SPENCER DEWOLFE, HEAD COACH/TEAM PRESIDENT

Former Assistant General Manager of the St. Catharines Jr.B Falcons (GOJHL) before working as the General Manager of the Niagara Whalers Jr. A in the GMHL the past two seasons with a record of 92-16-2 including playoffs.

JAKE MACNEIL, GENERAL MANAGER

Jake brings a winning culture to the Niagara-on-the-lake organization. Jake was apart of the Junior B Caledonia Corvairs who won three consecutive Ontario championships and looks to help bring a winning atmosphere to the Nationals program. Although still young and learning lots he is well connected in the hockey world with many friends and contacts at higher levels of the game. He looks forward to this opportunity as he has his eyes set on making development and winning a tradition here in Niagara-on-the-lake.

 

JON GROSSI, ASSISTANT COACH

Jon comes to us after coaching the minor midget for Niagara North Stars and Hamilton Bulldogs triple A programs. In those two seasons coaching those programs he has developed over 15 players to the OHL! We look forward to having Jon apart of the program as he has had much success developing players to higher levels and brings loads of knowledge to our program.

Team Overview

The Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League announced today that it has approved the addition of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Nationals franchise for the 2018-19 season.

Beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake is well known for the town’s wineries, scenery, nature and history and will now be known for a hockey program that will play out of the Meridian Credit Arena.

The Nationals, a first-year franchise with a well-experienced, connected and dedicated staff is thrilled to be bringing an electrifying program to a prosperous town. Niagara-on-the-Lake is well situated, close to both Buffalo and Toronto, close to several NCAA schools and OHL clubs.

 

Arena / Facilities
Home games are played at the Meridian Credit Union Arena, a twin pad arena that is surrounded by beautiful town that is well known for the wineries. The Nationals have their own dedicated dressing room, with 27 professional players stalls, TVs, coaches room, and trainers’ room. Trainers’ room has laundry facility and taking care of the on ice clothing.
Training Facility and Off Ice Training
Each player receives a gym membership. We are also working on getting Yoga classes for the players to help with mind-body workouts.
Games and Practices
Home games are played on Friday nights, and occasional Sunday. Practices are 3-4 times per week depending on game schedule that week. Minimum 1 practice a week will be focused solely on skill development. Ex-NHLers Zenon Konopka and Dave Cullen will be running the skill development sessions. Ontario Hockey League SCTA Central Scout Freddie Coccimiglio will be running on ice skill practice skates as well.
Billeting

Living in Niagara-on-the-Lake it is a high income community and well known for its wine tourism. A rich and supportive community gives the parents are comfortable feel leaving their children to stay in a safe community

Evaluations
Interactive video platform (ability to view all videos of all shifts, giveaways, shots and etc, around 80 actions of each player in your and opponents team, with ability to share these playlists or particular video episodes straight to your players emails).
Players will receive their shifts videos straight to their emails, or highlights and etc. Detailed game report (with advanced stats of 18 to 20 pages with schemes, graphics, charts, passes distribution and etc.) Interactive shots chart for all of your players with binded video episodes. Goalie&Player individual review.
Education

We have an Ontario Certified Teacher to assist players.

$7,000 CDN.
